The greater present challenge to orchid cultivation is to find a substitute to tree fern fiber because its commercialization is about to be forbidden because the Dicksonia selowii is threatened by extinction.
At this moment, the Brazilian government is not giving certificate to export Dicksoniaceae.
Our purpose is to put this question under discussion by the opinions of many researchers, amateur and professional growers.
