Cattleya
intermedia 'La Violetera'
White sepals and petals with blue-purplish mid-lobe which placed
it as a variety “Caerulea”. We can notice a golden
yellow streak in the central vein of the petals identifying it
as a “Peloriada”. Hard to be classified.

labiata
'Emília'
This flower presents a very irregular blooming. On the first photo,
it is outstanding, justifying its tradition. On the second, we
can see darker lilac stained edges of the segments. This anomaly
doesn't allow classify it as a traditional “Flamed”,
due to the fact that the blotches are also presented in the edges
of the sepals. On the third, it bloomed as a "striated".

C.
warneri 'Boneca'
Considering the imperfection, the form is quite good. Wide and
round petals. We can't deep analyze because the charm is the anomaly
which fits the concept of “Trilabiate”. The petals
show whitish blotches in the inside part. The edges of the petals
are slight strangulated showing a purple color in the central
lobe of the lip, thus we can also classify it as a "aquinada'.

C.
warneri 'Flamenga'
Analyzing
this flower, we should criticize the petals strangulation but
if we examine better, we see a dark lilac blotch at the edges.
The lip shows a small mid-lobe totally dark purple which allow
to classify as a “Tipe”. In the other blooming, we
see an aberration showing normal segments with lip, just a exposed
column. We notice that the blotches at the petals edges are present,
proving that this a regular characteristic.

 |
C.
labiata 'Nunca Mais'
It
is hard to identify the welded segments. It seems that the lateral
sepals took the place of the petals. THe superior petal, the petals
and the lip are welded, letting the column exposed. I think it
is a perfection in the imperfection. The lilac coloring is uniformly
distributed, with lighter hue beneath the column, showing a characteristic
of a tube that doesn't exist. This plant never bloom again.
(Nunca mais = Never more)

 |
C. intermedia 'Salto'
It
is a beautiful representative of the flamed. Round petals overlaying
the sepals in a good shape. The lip is also well arranged. The
coloring is lilac, showing in the edges of the not-strangulated
petals the same purple color in the mid-lobe.
|
 |
C. intermedia 'Fogo de Palha'
Sepals and lip following a normal structure. The petals are well
disposed and show a hollow in the edges. It is a floral aberration
without specific qualification. |
 |
C.
intermedia 'Farroupilha'
This flower is basically a 'semi-alba - aquinada' because the
base of its segments is white, broken by the red-blood coloring.
As we can see, there are some spots in the sepals, so we can identify
it as a 'puntacta'. We do not should do a polemic about its perfection. |
 |
C.
intermedia 'Bandoleira'
As structure, it shows a good ensemble. Its lilac coloring shows
s purple striate streak in the central nervures of the petals
a which fit as a 'flamed'. It is a 'trilabiate' because the color
anomaly is presented in the petals. |

| Laelia
purpurata 'Raimundo Mesquita'
I consider this flower as a 'semi-alba - Flamed', but the veins
which form the color completes its classification as a 'striated'.
The color, uncommon for the species, is excellent.
Going on with the remarks about this beautiful purpurata, I would
register the anomaly where one of the petals is welded with the
sepals. The lip keeps its normal form as well as the color. |
 |
C.
labiata 'Ponta Negra'
It
is a lilac that shows a perfect structure. The lip, although having
a good structure, shows a defect in the veins of the mid-lobe,
damaging the appearance.

Laelia
purpurata 'Divina Dama'
On the first photo, we see a well formed flower.
On the second, the mid-lobe is completely deformed. (Divina Dama
= Divine Lady) |
 |
C.
labiata 'Barra da Tijuca'
Its “Lilac" segments gather good attributes. The mid-lobe
shows a normal color but the edge is atrophied. |
 |
C.
intermedia 'Borboleta
Azul'
This is a cross of 'semi-alba-aquinada and 'Farroupilha'.
I classified it as caerulea.
Inside the lineage of 'aquinadas', it holds a good position.
(Borboleta
Azul = Blue Butterfly) |
