the origin

Cattleya eldorado var. fantasia 'Caapora'
by Carlos Keller

This Cattleya eldorado appeared in a seedbed made from a self of a plant coming from the bush.
Who made the crossing was Cavalin in the extinct Orquidário Caapora. Eduardo Mucke, owner of Orquidário Santa Bárbara, in Santa Bárbara do Oeste, SP (near Americana), bought the original plant and planted it.
Unfortunately the original plant died and only about 100 meristems survived.
This is one of them.
The Santa Bárbara Orquidário ended up selling all the meristems and today only the owners of these approximately 100 specimens, usually orchid lovers from the surroundings, customers of this nursery, are the only owners of this clone.
